On June 10–11, 2025, representatives from the National Agency for Cannabis Control (NACC) and the Agricultural University of Tirana participated in the annual meeting organized by the Cannabis Regulators Association (CANNRA) in Denver, Colorado.

The event brought together over 130 representatives from regulatory agencies, state and federal authorities across more than 30 U.S. states and territories, as well as international participants. Discussions focused on shared challenges and priorities to ensure a sustainable and secure regulatory framework for cannabis-derived products.

Key topics included:

  • Preventing illegal diversion and ensuring product integrity;
  • Harmonizing standards for export and inter-state compliance;
  • Regulatory approaches for high THC content products and novel product formats;
  • Policies for the medical and industrial use of cannabis;
  • Supply chain sustainability and disaster response mechanisms;
  • Economic trends and market data.

NACC representatives had the opportunity to exchange experiences with counterparts from various jurisdictions and to build meaningful contacts for future collaboration. This engagement contributes directly to the development of informed policies and the alignment of Albania’s regulatory framework with international best practices.
