As part of the exchange of experiences and familiarization with the best European practices in the cultivation and processing of medical cannabis, NACC, together with representatives from Albanian institutions involved in the implementation of Law No. 61/2023, conducted a field visit to Curaleaf Portugal Lda, one of the leading licensed operators in Portugal.
The delegation was received by the general manager of this branch, Mr. Nuno Mendonça, as well as other senior company officials, who presented the safety protocols, security measures for the facility, and the monitoring system at every stage of production.
The participants observed firsthand all stages of the cultivation cycle, witnessing the implementation of GACP practices in the greenhouses, post-cultivation processes, as well as the strict quality control procedures for the products.
This visit, made possible with the support of TAIEX, provided a clear overview of the implementation of the most advanced European standards in the cultivation and processing of medical cannabis, strengthening the technical and institutional knowledge of this sector.
