The National Agency for Cannabis Control\/ NACC and the General Prosecutor’s Office have formalized a cooperation agreement with the primary aim of ensuring integrity in the cannabis sector for medical and industrial purposes. This agreement establishes mechanisms for the exchange of information between the two institutions, ensuring the proper implementation of law no. 61\/2023 and the prevention of any legal violations. <\/p>\n
The Director General of the NACC, Assoc. Prof. Linda Pustina, and the General Prosecutor, Mr. Olsian \u00c7ela, signed the cooperation agreement, which focuses on several key areas of collaboration, with particular emphasis on verifying the integrity of NACC employees and licensed\/authorized entities. The Prosecutor’s Office commits to providing information about candidates and NACC employees, as well as about shareholders, administrators, and employees of licensed and authorized entities involved in the verification process.
The agreement also includes the monitoring and inspection of licensed entities to ensure compliance with the law and prevent the illegal use of cannabis, the investigation and prosecution of any legal violations related to the cultivation, processing, or distribution of cannabis for medical and industrial purposes, as well as the training and strengthening of institutional capacities to ensure a stronger legal and administrative framework for regulating this sector.
For the effective implementation of this agreement, the AKKC and the Prosecutor’s Office will create a Joint Coordinating Group, which will organize periodic meetings to review progress and address any potential challenges in the implementation of their shared commitments.
This agreement represents an important step towards ensuring a stronger system of oversight and control, ensuring that the medical and industrial cannabis sector operates within the legal framework and is protected from any risk of misuse or criminal activity.<\/p>\n
