During the annual meeting of the Cannabis <\/em>Regulators Association \u2013 CANNRA, the General Director of the National Agency for Cannabis <\/em>Control\/ NACC, Assoc. Prof. Linda Pustina, participated in a high-level panel titled “Overview of Regulators from International Jurisdictions.<\/em>” The panel featured leaders from significant institutions, including Health Canada, the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, and the Cannabis <\/em>Policy Office in Maine, USA. <\/p>\n During her presentation, Assoc. Prof. Linda Pustina provided a comprehensive overview of the current situation of the cannabis <\/em>sector in Albania, sharing important details about the progress in drafting the necessary sub-legal acts for the implementation of Law 61\/2023. She emphasized the potential of this sector to contribute to economic development, the importance of implementing high production standards, and the enhancement of safety and quality for the products that will be produced in the country. <\/p>\n In her speech, Assoc. Prof. Linda Pustina specifically addressed the challenges encountered during the implementation of legislation and the creation of the necessary infrastructure, including technology, expert training, and the building of international partnerships. She also highlighted the opportunities that this industry could create for Albania, such as the opening of new job positions, the development of rural areas, and the attraction of strategic investments. <\/p>\n The discussions in the panel were marked by significant interest and fruitful debates, where experiences and regulatory models from different jurisdictions were shared. This open exchange of ideas and practices paved the way for identifying priority areas for further collaborations between NACC and international partners. <\/p>\n NACC’s participation in this panel served as proof of its commitment to learning from the best international practices.
